Flatlanders with good start in New York!
We did the first show of the Flatlanders’ Spring 2009 tour in Ithaca last night. The State is a beautiful old theater and the management, staff and crew were superb in all respects, making it a very enjoyable evening for us. If the first night went so well I believe we can expect a whole tour of excellent shows, and I hope you will be there for as many of them as possible. Our new CD, “Hills and Valleys,” is out and we are very happy with it. I plan to use this blog to talk about other subjects, but right now the exciting news is the Flatlanders re-reuniting. Tonight we will be at The Egg in Albany, and we hope to see some of you there. All of you, in fact!
So happy your tour is coming through Boulder. It’s been too long!

When in Boulder??? !!! I’m excited about that, Jimmie! And here’s what I haven’t told you. Before I left Austin, I had not heard your singing! And I took 8 days to get from Austin to the Denver area, and took two of your CDs with me. Figured Texas music while I’m leaving Texas was apropo. Love your Brave New World, love it, love it. I live just 20 minutes south of Boulder, so I need to find out when you’ll be here.

Great Idea. Thanks for letting us in on the blog. I’m moving back to Lubbock after living in the North and hoping to catch you all there.

It was a wonderful show in Ithaca. A windy and rainy ride home to Rochester. Thanks for having it indoors.
I shook hands with Butch and Joe, and they felt like nice people.
See you in July.

Hey Jimmie
What a great show at The Narrows! The new album is just superb! Joe Pug is a welcome addition for the crowd as well!
Thanks for taking a few minutes to talk with me about our Dads and the similarities of us growing up even if there were a few years difference and thousands of miles between us. I hope you enjoy some of your favorite songs on The Big Lou CD! Be well friend.
